Salar de Uyuni: Day Three, Morning

It had rained - hard - the night before we really got on the salt flats.  Which actually made me excited!  The whole point of getting to the salar during rainy season was to see the glassy mirror effect of the water on the flats!

Unfortunately, we started out way to early (dawn) and had more rain.  So sadly, a lot of the photos were overcast.  A lot of us were quite disappointed when we arrived at the final destination - having not see the salar as it should be seen - with lots of blue sky and sun.  As we sat in the plaza of Uyuni, in the unrelenting sunshine, waiting 8 hours for our night bus to La Paz, German (pronounced Her-mann) looked at Ash and me and said, "Why don't we go back to the Salar now?"  What a great idea!  We went to the tour office to see if we could hire a driver to take us back in.  Success!  And you know what?  BEST DECISION - EVER.  Check out the next post for the pretty photos!

Yes, the requisite photos for the Salar!  I'm the last one on the right!

I'm being squashed!
