Iceland: The fickle Northern Lights and other Night Photography

It was freezing - I really need to find some gloves that still allow me to fiddle around with my camera in the dark.  And total mistake on my part - I should have gone with my gut and lugged my tripod with me instead of thinking my Gorilla would be sufficient.  Nothing like rolling around in the snow in -12C wind chill factor nights.  :D

But I at least got to see beautiful stars and caught part of the Aurora Borealis by camera - if not by the naked eye.

We went out on the hunt 2 nights - the rest were not weather friendly.

The next 3 photots were taken out in South Iceland near the hotel where we stayed at.

And then back in Reykjavik we took a Northern Lights Hunts tour.  I am so happy we did because at least I caught these.  I wish they were a bit more in focus but my hands were freezing and so the focusing got messy.
