Lhasa: Sera Monastery

The Sera Monastery is one of three university monasteries and is probably most famous for the debating monks.  They debate daily from 3 to 4:30 pm 6 days a week.  It is quite fascinating to watch.  Additionally, Sera Monastery has the statue of hynagriva from which traditionally kids will get blessings from the monks, which is a smudge of ash from the horse protector statue on their nose.  Westerners who want good sleep, good luck, and no nightmares can also get this blessing!  See me below!
