This was our favorite place on the Isle of Skye. Of course, we also got fantastic weather! But you'll see from the photos below why this hike and place were so wonderful...
We started on the same road as when we went to see the Old Man of Storr:
You may see some repititious photos below but I really couldn't decide which ones to remove!
Afterwards, we went to the kind-of-hard-to-find Fairy Glen. It was nice, but since it came right after the Quiraing, it was a little disappointing.
Then as the day started to get cloudier, we kept driving towards the NW section of the island.
This old church (Trumpan church) was a site of a revenge then battle between the MacDonalds and the MacLeods. The MacLeods had previously killed hundreds of MacLeods and in revenge, the MacDonalds barred the doors of the church on a Sunday and burned all the MacLeods in the church alive. One young girl managed to sound the alarm and a fierce battle ensued - and eventually all the MacDonalds were killed.
