The Sakya Monastery was a lot of people's favorite monastery to visit because of it's open feel to the building. It was founded by the Sakya Trizin of the Rainbow Sect. The Sakya Trizin, unlike the Dalai and Penchan Lama, is all kept in the family - the leader (and his family) is (are) allowed to take a wife and have a family and the leadership is passed from father to son (or nephew if no son).
