The next stop for us was the Metropolitan Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas. It is the 5th building reconstructed on the site after earthquakes have destroyed previous buildings. This one has been standing since 1899. The only major damage from the 2010 earthquake was one of the statues outside the Church had to be moved because it was no longer stable where it was.
