Varanasi is a holy city next to the Ganges. It was such a lovely experience there doing both a sunset and sunrise cruise. More, we had lovely interactions with the locals including Raj Patel, our rickshaw driver with beautiful eyes but unfortunate teeth. I think the turning moment was when I yelled out "teen cows!" (three cows) and he got excited that I knew the word teen! He gave us good advice and warnings before dropping us off. Later, on our way back in a different rickshaw, he saw us as he himself rickshawed past and waved! As we departed Varanasi for our next leg, he also made sure to say goodbye. What a sweet man.
Sunset on the Ganges was a beautiful experience where we lit candles and placed them on the Ganges. They are meant to help make your wishes come true! Then we got to experience the Sunset Prayer for the Ganges - lovely!
